Veuve Clicquot

Recognisable by its famous yellow label Veuve Clicquot is a favourite at parties and sporting events across the world. The company was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot in Reims, France. Three years later the same Champagne house created the first rosé Champagne by adding red wine during production. Nowadays Veuve Clicquot creates world beating Vintage, Brut, Demi-Sac and of course Rosé.

The oldest unopened bottle of Veuve Clicquot was discovered in Scotland back in 2008 tucked away in a sideboard in Torosay Castle, Isle of Mulls. Luckily it was found in perfect condition due to being kept in the dark. The bottle dated back to 1893 and is now on show at the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin visitor centre for all to see.
